However, having had a few customers buy from us but comment on how they thought we must be linked, I had a look at Oak furniture Land in Bolton. I was very pleased to see that the resemblance to our company ends at the advert! Our shop is set out very differently with our furniture displayed to it’s best advantage, accessories available to buy as your browse, and all of our displays in excellent working order. One HUGE discovery that I would like to point out to any potential customers of ours is that Oak Furniture land are actually MORE EXPENSIVE than us too!! You may not think so, but we offer great quality solid oak furniture ranges at lower prices than they do, all with a personal service, our own two man delivery team and unrivalled after sales care.

We are delighted to announce a joint venture with one of the UK’s largest Oak furniture suppliers, direct from their factory in China. We have been in talks for a few months, and have been successful in arranging to bring four fantastic oak furniture ranges in to the UK at great prices. The Solid Wood Furniture Company, Chorley, Lancashire.

Although a number of years have passed since we changed our name from The Solid Wood Furniture Company to Bonners Furniture, we still get customers who bought from us under our previous name saying that it took them a while to track us down. When we started up our furniture company in Lancashire, we were The Solid Wood Furniture company and we were based in Chorley North Industrial Estate, near the M61 motorway junction on the way into Chorley. We had a number of very successful years trading at that address, even though we were tucked out of the way and didn’t even have a shop window!!! We made the decision to move to our current furniture showroom, just behind B&Q, Chorley to both expand the furniture showroom, and extend customer awareness. We made the move at the end of December 2007, and reopened the furniture showroom doors to start with a massive New Years furniture sale.

We had fast become one of the most popular solid wood furniture retailers in Lancashire, and in 2008 we made the decision to expand our furniture showroom further, to allow us to branch into other furniture ranges, such as leather and upholstered sofas, corner groups and easy chairs. We also started selling a lot more home accessories, having sourced some beautiful unique chamois rugs and cushions, something our furniture shop has now became quite famous for – it is not unusual to see customers walking around our furniture shop in Lancashire “stroking” one of our lovely soft cushions absentmindedly!

We launched our sofa studio to our Lancashire furniture customers in 2008, with a weekend furniture spectacular, supported by Hepplestone Fine Art who supplied beautiful artwork for the event and also arranged for local artists Wendy Corbett and Toni Hargreaves to give a painting demonstration. We also  relaunched the company as Bonners Furniture & Living with style, this allowed us to move on from just selling solid wood furniture, and we have successfully carved out a good reputation as one of the leading independent furniture shops in Lancashire.
